When i first was thinking about buying a handgun i wanted a .45 now i think i want a 9mm more ammo and cheaper ammo. 9mm will ruin your day just as bad as a .45 imo.

:c: :c: You just made my point....they are all almost exactly the same....except the 40 is a huge compromise...does not have the little larger mass/size of the 45 ACP and does not have the magazine capacity of the 9mm.....

OH btw I really like the .357 sig. Plenty of rounds and plenty of punch.:tu:

My Sig 239 only has 7 rounds of 357Sig in the mag....is that plenty???

But it's way flatter shooting than the 40 or the 45, has deeper penetration than the 40 or the 45, but is quite a bit more expensive...and it's designed from the ground up to be a man stopper and to penetrate car doors, window glass...and cloths & fat people....

Oh and it works quite nicely..easily better than the 40...

Yep, 9mm is way better than people admit...and it will put a serious hurting on ya....if not kill ya dead...

My favorite round is a .40 cal whether you think its short and weak, doesn't really concern me. :tu:

First one I bought was a 9mm for the cost reasons. I recently picked up a .45 as well. I got it for two reasons. 1, I like the round and just to have it. Kind of like buying a 30-30, useless but nostalgic. 2, more energy on target. Not for people, nor paper, but the critters in the mountains where I often work. If you only have time for 3 shots, they should count. I guess I should get a .500 S&W with that theory. :humm:

Good for you having your favorite round a 40 short and weak, least ya have one and stick by it...but remember learning is always occurring...and changes happen....don't be afraid to branch out and learn a new caliber :c::c::c:

We actually carry a old Winchester 30//30 when up in the hills with all the critters...sure it's old...really old...but it's better than any pistol round...:humm: :humm:

What I hate is going to Canada, last time we drove from Edmonton to Jasper & down through Banff National Park we could not even have the old 30/30 and since we were tent camping...they had restricted tents due to wildlife...had to sleep in the truck..or keep driving..and we were not allowed to sleep in the truck...nice catch 22...so tired it was unsafe to drive..and we missed lots of Banff as it was dark....and had to drive....:argh::argh::argh::argh:

I was gonna say that it had nothing to do with wildlife, and
it was just a successful plot to get your fat sorry ass out of our country.

But I won't.
I'll just sit here and keep my mouth shut.

Wish the USA would've done that:dang:

ramp i dont like the snappy 9mm or .40sw that much, 45 is easy to get back on target

FordDZLMan9191 10-22-2011 10:20 PM

I like my .40. It does exactly what I want it to do as long as I do my part as the guy pulling the bang switch. To be perfectly honest, I'll take a .22 over nothing any day of the week in a situation where my life was at stake.
