Being Wrong is Important... and, Admitting It is too!
Personally I have no use for the 40 short and weak....it's nothing but a compromise...and excels at nothing....

a 40 caliber 135 gr. going over 1300 FPS will get the job done:tu:

The wounding/killing difference between the modern 9mm/40 short and weak & 45 is so very close it''s almost zero difference...it all boils down to number of spare cartridges carried... How many rounds in a 45 mag, how many rounds in a 40 mag & how many rounds in a 9mm mag... With 1 mag in the gun, 1 in the pipe and either 1 or 2 spare mags on your body you by and far have way more ammo on your person with a 9mm.... Not to mention you can get much more range time with the cheaper 9mm ammo, it's got way less recoil/kick, is easier on the weapon and the shooter and a much faster 2nd shot followup than the 40 short and weak... ---AutoMerged DoublePost---

My 357Sig's....loaded with factory 125gr Gold Dot's clocks in at 3.5" barrel - 1415fps 4.5" barrel - 1525fps And the 357 Sig is a much better caliber than the 40 short and weak...designed from the onset to replicate the 125gr 357 Magnum....the all time #1 human stopping round...and it's emulated this round quite nicely....along with being way flatter shooting...deeper penetrating...less recoil and harder hitting than the 40 short and weak.... It's a 9mm on steroids....:jump::jump::jump: |

While my self defense gun is a CZ-75 9MM, which i like for the above reason, I'm not going to bad mouth the 40 S&W or the 45 ACP. Now I have a glock 22 with a BAR-STO 357 SIG barrel, & that 4.5 inch barrel only give me 1400 FPS with 125 gr. CCI brass. I think some one is BS'ING with those high velocity figures on the 357 SIG.:w2:

You two argue more than a couple of old WOMEN!!!:td:
OH btw I really like the .357 sig. Plenty of rounds and plenty of punch.:tu: |
Let me shoot you Ramprat with a 9mm, 40, and a 45. Then tell me which one is better :ok:
|
When i first was thinking about buying a handgun i wanted a .45 now i think i want a 9mm more ammo and cheaper ammo. 9mm will ruin your day just as bad as a .45 imo.

Oh and it works quite nicely..easily better than the 40... ---AutoMerged DoublePost---

First one I bought was a 9mm for the cost reasons. I recently picked up a .45 as well. I got it for two reasons. 1, I like the round and just to have it. Kind of like buying a 30-30, useless but nostalgic. 2, more energy on target. Not for people, nor paper, but the critters in the mountains where I often work. If you only have time for 3 shots, they should count. I guess I should get a .500 S&W with that theory. :humm:
What I hate is going to Canada, last time we drove from Edmonton to Jasper & down through Banff National Park we could not even have the old 30/30 and since we were tent camping...they had restricted tents due to wildlife...had to sleep in the truck..or keep driving..and we were not allowed to sleep in the truck...nice catch 22...so tired it was unsafe to drive..and we missed lots of Banff as it was dark....and had to drive....:argh::argh::argh::argh: |

ramp i dont like the snappy 9mm or .40sw that much, 45 is easy to get back on target
|
I like my .40. It does exactly what I want it to do as long as I do my part as the guy pulling the bang switch. To be perfectly honest, I'll take a .22 over nothing any day of the week in a situation where my life was at stake.

---AutoMerged DoublePost--- My Sig 239 only has 7 rounds of 357Sig in the mag....is that plenty??? But it's way flatter shooting than the 40 or the 45, has deeper penetration than the 40 or the 45, but is quite a bit more expensive...and it's designed from the ground up to be a man stopper and to penetrate car doors, window glass...and cloths & fat people.... I think the 40 short and weak has the most kick, snappiest and takes the longest to get back on target.. ---AutoMerged DoublePost---
