Minimum of 500 rds to start the break in...and then at least 100rds of self defense ammo...

But a hi point....ummm no way in hell would I trust my life or the lives of my loved ones to a hunk of pot metal boat anchor....

Ya this is the gun ill probably take the class with. I will hopefully have a xdm or something else to carry. I actually really like the 9mm round its cheap and seems to do enough damage.

Yes it is but your talking about a tool to protect your life with. I would send a few hundred FMJ cheapy rounds down range first with no malfunctions before spending the money on the Hornadays.

I will but not for carry. Its gonna be a truck gun. Once i get another handgun it will stay in my truck at all times.

Ya that is true, my buddy is gonna polish the feed ramp and a few other things on it. From what ive read and seen the machining isnt great. You can also do a trigger job on it, i probably wont though.
