CALLING ALL GLOCK EXPERTS
im looking at a new guide rod for my glock 21sf and i notice there is different tentions 17lb 20 lb 22lb ect. So im wondering what the differnces are and what would be best for me i have a 3.5 ghost rocket trigger and polished internals. Also my original guide rod has a chip off it where it meets the barrel about half of the face is missing thats why i want to replace it it works fine i just dont want it to come apart while im shooting but ive put about 500 through the tube with it like that.
If you're not handloading your ammunition, or shooting notably light, or hot loads from the factory, it is advised you stay with the factory spring weight for your Glock. A lesser weight spring can be used with low power loads, vice versa with high power loads.
This is the one I put in mine:

The 17 lbs is correct for models with captive factory recoil spring systems which are silver/gray in color. Previous captive factory recoil assemblies for the 17, 17L, 20, 21 & 22 had recoil springs rated at 16 pounds.
k ill go ahead and order the stainless 17lb spring probly the lonewolf

ive ran about 10000 rounds so far since i bought it 3 years ago and this is the first malfunction but it still works perfectly i just dont wana see what happens if the guide rod slips. it would probly be a pain in the *** to feild strip it once it does im sure id have to take the firing pin out.
