Wish I can get a good deal on a 22 MAG. for my son, cause I have a MARLIN 783 22 MAG & 3,000 rounds of CCI HP 22 mag ammo would can go shooting together

Martin, just buy a .17hmr and he can have the .22mag. You'll school him with the .17

I've been told that the 17HMR foul very quickly, cause of the small diameter, also I already have 3,000 rounds of 22 mag. The 17HMR will shoot flatter than the 22mag

I've never had a foul out of my .17...I haven't looked back either.

You can get more range with the 17HMR, but the bullet is lighter

You aren't killing critters so why would that be a concern for you? I've dropped dogs (coyotes) at over 150yds. So it's not too bad.

I don't hunt, I only target shoot, I mounted a PENTAX 4X scope on my MARLIN 783

thats my favorite squirll rifle, if you need help getting rid of that ammo get your boy a Ruger-10-22 in 22mag, that would help eat it up a little quicker

Have you seen how much people are asking for the 10-22 in 22 mag
