When we had a bear wander into camp about 20 feet away from us in the tent...the 12ga loaded with slugs felt really small.....

Tell him to file the front sight off...so it does not hurt as much when the bear shoves it up his butt....

We go out in our trucks, occasionally on ATVs but not very often anymore. But we do often times park to check the trail or just go for a hike which is when we're wanting protection.

My .22 need rebuilt, its broke But why would I do that, I'm not going to stand there and watch him get eaten while I could be running away to safety. Besides, I'd probably shoot him for annoying me about the way I drive. That might work, leave him there as bait thn the bears would be there instead of where we are...

I know when my dad has done archery bear trips up north, they carry 10ga with slugs with them. They were instructed to walk up to the bear and put the barrel against the bear before pulling the trigger, in the event someone was being attacked. 44 mags were allowed also, but everyone needed a side arm or something of the sort to even step foot in the camp.

My buddys got one and its definitely a cool gun. Its actually his daily carry (they are pretty bulky) and he keeps it loaded with 4.10 shotgun shells.

Why not a 12 guage?

I dont know a whole lot about guns but I know a bit about bears - a .410 seems to be grossly inadequate defence against a bear (assuming Wyoming has bears bigger than 75 pounds )

I like that idea of a 12 gauge handgun, but it'll never happen, cause a 12 gauge is 72 caliber & you can't own a handgun over 50 caliber

Not a 12 guage handgun. A 12 guage shotgun.
