Centruy AKs

Does anyone here have a Century Arms AK47 or have any experience with them?

Last weekend I shot a buddies SKS and decided that I like the 7.62x39 round:tu:. I'd rather get an AK over an SKS though. So I've been doing hours of research to see what all I could find(good and bad) about Century's WASR 10 AKs. I've heard lots of people say they are piles of shit with canted sights, horrible mag wobble, unreliable, and whatever else, but from what I've seen on youtube and other forums, people that actually own them and have the ability to fix the issues, seem to like them and they seem to be just as reliable as any other AK in the world.

I'm just going to use it for having fun with and possibly and end-of-the-world-zombie defense rifle:scare2: :gunner: There's a gun show near me next weekend that I'm going to try to go to, plus I'm gonna call my gun shop that I like to go to and see what they're price on one is first.

Just looking for some opinions...:humm:

I had a CENTURY AK-47, it shot good & didn't jam, but I've heard story about century guns that weren't good:humm:

I've heard stories too. As long as it goes bang and hits what I'm aiming at every time I pull the trigger, its a good gun in my book. Just hoping someone had some experience with them and could tell me whether its worth spending the money on one or just get something else...

I have experience with a Century SAR-1, the predecessor to the WASR-10. The ATF pulled the plug on the SAR-1 being imported because it was a good rifle.:s:
Basically, the SAR-1 is everything the WASR wishes it was. I can attest to the canted sights and wobbly mag in the WASR (my buddy had one) but it went bang every time the trigger was pulled.
The WASR actually uses a single-stack mag when it's made. Century then hogs-out the mag well to accommodate the much more common double-stack mags, which is where the wobble comes from.
Look on Century's website. Century International Arms They offer MANY more choices other than the wasr. The other models will cost a bit more then a WASR-10 but are a better rifle.

Martin.... If you pay that for an AK47 I'm gonna drive to Florida and kick your ass myself...

Why no build one your self from a parts kit? Or if you want brand new buy a Saiga 7.62 and convert it.

$200 parts kit... $60 reciever... Little grinder and welder time.

Started like this, demilled number matching Rommy-G made in 1981

Attachment 41637

Need to get the trigger group in, function check it, shoot it, then pull it apart and finish the metal and wood.

Attachment 41638

If your one of the purist types (which looking at the link above your not :D ) you can rivet it or screw it.

Plus the thrill of building your own gun is GREAT.

If you want to get REAL fancy you can buy a flat receiver. Its only 80% finished, you bend it and finish it off yourself. Since it is legal to make your own firearm for personal use you would have non-registered gun that legal to have. You wont ever be able to sell it though.

Krebs also has SAIGA 12 GAUGE Welcome to Krebs Custom - The Ultimate Expression of System Kalashnikov
Krebs is a bragging AK-47, I'm not handy with tools,:nope:

RSWORDS 05-27-2011 03:11 PM

I understand the Kreb is top the line and are VERY nice. Mark Kreb knows the AK inside and out like no one else does... But its still and AK.... I just could not bring myself to spend that much on an AK.

That S12 is an even bigger rip off.... :argh:

The AK build takes some skill (kinda). But a Saiga conversion can be done by a blind monkey.... Anyone paying $2,000 for a saiga is a complete and total moron. I could build 3 for that.... I have $700 in mine and have ALOT nicer parts then they are using according to the discription.

So MARK KREB is laughing all the way to the B A N K:s: His rifles & shotguns are crazy expensive:scare2: You should start your own business BOBBY:tu:
