Default Pocket Gun Review - S&W Bodyguard 380

I've been wanting/needing a pocket carry automatic for a while now. While I love my Glock 23 to the end of the earth sometimes its just not practical to carry it. Now that the weather is warming up and a T-shirt (or no shirt ) is becoming the norm on the weekend its getting harder and harder to concel the Glock 24/7. So this leads me to wanting something to drop in a pocket...

On the way home from work today I stopped in my favorite gun shop. Was looking at snagging up a LCP but he had these S&W Bodyguard 380's just screaming at me, After handeling it next to the LCP it was hands down a better gun for me, plus the built in laser was a huge selling point. It is the same size as the LCP and only 2oz's heavier. In my pocket it feel no different then my phone. Putting some rounds down teh tube resulted in a fairly accurate gun for its size and the recoil is tamer (not that .380ACP is a beast) then the LCP's I've shot. It does have a very LOOONNNNGGGG trigger pull....

Anyway.... On to the pics.

With my Glock 23 for comparison. This is a "compact" Glock. I carry it everyday and love it but chilling at the beach, or playing in the yard is just not possible.

Anyway just thought I would put up my thoughts, I really like this gun and would recomend it to anyone wanting a nice back-up piece or a pocket gun. Also note they had an issue with teh trigger in the first release models, S&W will fix it with no issues but any serial number that starts with EAF or later should be good from the factory.

Cost? Looks exactly like what I want for at work. Last thing I need is a peak-a-boo while walking the job...

Not bad for $400 bucks...

Joe I highly recomend it. In a pocket holster it looks like my wallet in my rear pocket and cant even see it in my front.

Bodyguard 380cal — DeSantis Holster

That holster sticks to teh inside of your pocket like its sewn in.

I carry a Keltek P32 and love it. Small and lighweight. The best thing I like about it is the safety is attached to my hand. No fumbling if I need to use it. Only bad thing I've noticed is that anything other than round nose ammo will tend to jam sometimes.

BOBBY, Excellent buy, A small gun, you can hide easily, but the best thing about it is {FRAME MOUNTED SAFETY}

Does it sound like a box of rocks when you shake it like most auto S&W's do ? or is it pretty solid ?

That's the worst thing about it. That's why I favor the LCP over the Bodyguard. The LCP doesn't have a safety. One less thing to **** with when you have less than a second to react.

I do love the Bodyguard and will probably get one for the girlfriend (she wants a gun with a safety) when they are more available and back on sale.
