hunted w/ 30-30 for 25 years great gun you can scope it i did about 10 yrs ago ...tip get a hammer offset extender it helps a lot when when lowering the hammer to half **** safety .........finally up graded to a Winchester 308 lever action model 88 gave my son 30/30 it will last him another 25 years of hunting unless OBAMA BANS HUNTING !

It has too be some decent ammo (for some reason I'm thinking they are hollow points) cause that is all my step-dad would shoot, when he moved out and I moved to florida I took it with me......
Triple 7 sounds like what I will go with......
I bet you gave probably 3 times for yours than I did mine......
I plan to deer hunt with it in florida....
Hopefully the breach plug is easy to pull out. it makes cleaning it ten times faster. Thats why I bought my traditions muzzle loader. the breach plug is a screw in type (at the time I bought it not many muzzle loaders had the quick remove breach plug)
as far as powder goes. triple 7 shoots the cleanest. I have tried a bunch and can get 3 shots before I have to clean it. others I get 2.
