If you can only own 1 gun what would it be??

No one gun will be the best at everything, but just like rodeo, the All Around Cowboy might not win every event but he'll damn sure score high enough in each to come out on top, overall.....
A roundy round circus......

18" SPR= M16/M4 lower with 18" barrel, 2 stage match trigger and a Gas Piston Upper instead of the standard M16 gas operation
Can=Silencer
Docter Optic is a mini red dot that you can mount on a scope for close up work
Troy BUIS are a brand of back up iron sights
Poke Here and scroll down to where it says Addax Tactical GPU (Gas Piston Upper) & that's what my upper would almost be except with a 18" barrel and a OPS Inc muzzle brake/silencer. If you want to see big pictures the username is: mm and the password is: mm
Ifin ya get bored check out the rest of military moron's site, he's got tons of reviews and superb info on it.

[QUOTE=Mr. Miyagi;239881]That's what I figured, until he kept discounting the survivalist capabilities in favor of out battle firefight power. He said "one gun" then proceeded to debate how they would be used. Almost like he was looking for a "one gun for battle" instead of "one gun for everything".

MR. Miyagi, You figured it out and ruined my thread !!! NO ONE GUN CAN DO IT ALL, No one only has one tool in their tool-box, what's good in one situation, will not be in another !!

Ahhh, ya would have to find me before ya could shoot me
Think about it, what gets you killed is movement, ya can hide with the best of em, but as soon as you move you give away your position. So what if you are armed with the best gee whiz bang weapons money can buy, if you do not have the skills to employ those weapons you are taco meat. Just like the sniper has more skills than shooting, the person who survives a SHTF scenario must have more skills than the best poodle shooter money can buy.
Now about weaponry, here it all depends on where you are located & what the local area is like & what you plan on doing.

OK, So I see someone (or a group of people) approaching my location from 1000 yards away. As far as I'm concerned, that gives me a few choices. (BTW, if the SHTF, "home" will not be where my house stands, I guarantee it!)
1) I can engage the offender(s) with a high powered rifle and hope my elite marksmanship / sniper training (which I don't have and am reasonably sure few, if any, on this board do) allows me to accurately determine the range and wind direction/speed (at 1000 yds, a miscalculation of a few 10's of yards or a few mph in wind speed results in a MISS) and take down every offender quickly and cleanly enough that they won't be able to zero-in on my location and radio it in to their buddies.
2) We stay put unseen and undetected and hope he/they pass by without noticing our position, and engage ONLY when our position is realized or he/they cross into a pre-determined perimeter line where I can take my shots from known cover and pre-constructed hidey-holes.
3) It's going to take a walking man a few minutes to cover 1000 yds in open country, quite a bit longer in hilly/difficult terrain (where I may or may not be). We can vacate our position, taking along the proper provisions, via pre-determined "excape" routes and observe the offender's actions from a secondary position and determine our next course of action through those observations.
Unless you are planning on eating them, don't go out hunting men like Rambo. It's just not going turn out like you want it to.
The fact of the matter is, in a Red-Dawn type scenario, your best bet is strength in numbers. Team-up with your friends and your family, combining their eyes, their hands, their weapons and their provisions with your own. You are not going to win the battle by yourself. That's a guarantee.

All i gotta say anymore is, gunman..... do you research every gun that someone say's they'd choose. Cause you sure do seem to know everything about every single gun and every situation you could possibly ever be in.
Oh and as far as my "lucky shot". Must have been "lucky" quite a few times then. It's called hittin your target..

Ahhm but that's not "one" gun since you need two different calibers of ammo, mags and a 2nd upper.

HI Ramprat, Let's start with the upper, the upper is not a gun, nor is the mag, ammo, you call it arm-chair & talk crap on the web, about what I have learn about guns, I think you are a bit arrogant, as for mommy's basement, I live in my own house, that is PAID-OFF, and I have 5 rental homes in MIAMI, try to be a little respectful & humble.

HI Ramprat, I'm only hear to help, I like this hobby of mine, I'm here to learn from others, I will give my input, not forcing anybody to bow down, we all have different situation, I'm in a city of 1.5 million, I will do things different than someone that lives in the sticks, were a town is 80 miles away & only 102 people live there !! We enjoy guns, and discussing our different view points with each other !!! YOUR OPINON IS WELCOME !!!
