Yea, we have some dandys around here. Lots of corn fields in the area. I'll be scoring this guy at the end of this month.
Believe it or or not, he aint the big one. I was hoping to bag a buck that is even larger (much larger rack anyway) that we see from time to time. His rack is much wider with taller tines that are nearly bone white frm all the tree rubbing he's doing. The locals call him "Goliath". We all thought he was dead as he wasn't seen at all last year, but he showed up again just a few weeks ago. He's a smart old boy and will probably die of old age before a hunter ever brings him down.

Thanks. Got his noggin and hide in the freezer. Waiting till the end of next week to get him scored for a big-buck contest then dropping it off to get the head mounted and the hide tanned. He served up some good roasts! Threw one into the crock pot with some taters, carrots and some Lipton onion soup mix the other day. Now that's eatin' son!

Got the mount back from the taxidermist. Guy did an amazing job as he's only been doing it for a few seasons... well worth the $280.00 he charged me! He told me he had to order the largest mold he's ever ordered... one with a 30" neck. With the hide on, his neck measures 32 inches just below the white patch on his throat, and 38 inches back toward his shoulders. I haven't got his rack scored yet, but look to do it in mid-March. All I know how to measure is his main-beam inside to inside spread, which is 20 1/8 inches.
