Default After A Shooting, What To Reveal...

Excellent article......with some very valid points.....

Tactical Life After A Shooting, What To Reveal

It's also easy/cheap and great insurance if you look around your town & find a "good" (mean nasty obnoxious jerk with a good solid track record of winning his cases) of a criminal defense lawyer...and for around $50 a year you can have him/her/it on retainer so if you have to use your weapon you have a lawyer already picked out and on retainer...

Glad to see you back rampy. That is a great write up. Hope I never have to go through that situation but I'm prepared if the need arises.

Been there done that. As a POPO (now retired), I was involved in a few. 2 where I shot and neutralized the threat, 2 where i was shot at but couldnt return fire due to being pinned. 1 huge pit bull attacking an elderly man, and 1 trained attack German shepherd during a drug-raid. My first two were seven months apart, and I swear I never heard the shots I fired. I felt the recoil and saw muzzle flash from my .45 but it was like someone turned off the volume and slowly turned it back up after the incident. Crazy ****..........Talk about your ADRENALINE RUSH. This is an excellent article!!! Thanks for posting the link.

Im here to tell ya, when **** like that happens, it happens fast, and your decision to shoot or dont shoot needs to be made within the duration of a second or less. Lots of practice to build muscle memory is a must, to put that bullet right where you want it to go, and neutralize the threat. "Spray and pray" (spraying bullets and praying you hit your intended target/threat) carries HUGE LIABILITY for every flier (bullet that misses), even for a civilian, let alone a Law Enforcement entity.

Col. Dave Grossman from Warrior Science Group: Lieutenant Colonel Dave Grossman, Author - Jonesboro, Arkansas is a subject matter expert on the mental aspects of the shoot & having to deal with the after effects...

Everybody that carries a firearm should read on combat and on killing as a minimum, they are full of superb info.....

Like Bigg Redd says, when it happens it happens, no time to think....that's why pulling a pistol to "scare" the bad guy is so flawed...muscle memory, training and mindset are all there and your fine motor skills will go away....then you have to deal with the aftermath...both legally and mentally....and sometimes the mental part can be way harder...thus prepare your mindset now....
