i really like them my dad has the HS on his 270wsm and he loves it too. the only thing i dont like about mine is the short eye relif but the newer scopes have a 4" relif so they are alot better.
the rifle i'm planning to build next will cost over 6,000 for just the rifle and i still plan to top it with a vortex scope if that tells you anything.

I reload all my ammo, and just until I can learn and teach my self the basic of long range shooting Im gonna go with .308 winchester. Its realy kinda hard atually to pick the perfect caliber when you consider price, availability, and effectivness.

If thats what i was wanting i would do a 7mm-08 or a 7mm wsm since you reload. One gun would do both the things you want and the. 284 bullet has a much better bc then both of the others. Run some 120grs thru there and it wont beat you up.
Btw im posting this 637 yards from a 3" target while letting my barrel cool. Trying out some 150gr barns ttsx with 73.5gr of h1000 behind them. Seem to be running 3240fps. 9.0 moa drop from here.
Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.
