Yes, I agree that it's an atrocity. I laughed when I saw it the first time, but probably laughed at the massive stack and wheel combo more than the shortbed/dually concept, which I'm genuinely intrigued as to why it's such a hot setup. I don't think I could ever give up my long bed space...but to each his or her own.

for what it's worth, that year, that is the shortest wheelbase dodge offered in a regular cab 1-ton. Though it may not be a "short bed" is is shorter than my friends 96 dodge with a "long bed" bed.

after looking around. im reallly not a fan of the reg cab shortbed duallys. i dont see much use for them.

ben, yours isnt considered a short bed. yours looks good! the pic that the OP put on there looks absolutely awful. the only thing it might be good at is a donut competition, or parallel parking it in random places

I think it would be good for pulling a trailer, there should still be plenty of room for you to swing a gooseneck around (over 90*) even with the shorter bed, and the shorted wheelbase would just make getting around with it easier. Really the only point of a longbed is to haul more cargo, and if you always use a trailer, you can just put the same cargo in the trailer.

I like the idea of a regular cab, shortbox, diesel. But I definitely don't like the idea of a dually one! I wish they made more regular cab/shortbox's!
