I've seen a vid of that same truck at Glamis.
That has got to be hell on the steering.

not really that much difference of weight, and if your on sand or snow it lets the tracks slip some so its not like its trying to push around on asphault...

it is really hard on the suspension, A guy I know works on the North slope in AK. His company bought a set of them for one of their F350's and he was telling me he saw that truck on a flatbed with the frontend all screwed up more often than actually being used.

I just looked at the Mattrack's site and the lightest duty 150 series model (for a 3/4, 1 ton) weighs 1400 lbs for a set of 4 (in aluminum!).
that is alot of weight on the suspension! it also lists a steering assist as optional on the lighter unit and standard on the heavy duty models so it does steer harder.

Might be fun but not for the price or the increased maintenance they cause!

Imagine the advantage you would have sled-pulling with a set.

yah, but whatever you say, that video is awesome! and if you got the coin to purchase a set of those, you got the coin to beef up/rebuild your suspension
