Long story short on the next set of pics... I took it to the local diesel shop to get the timing set and bumped up and the tech took it for a test drive and decided to crash the truck :D All is good though, thats why they are called accidents and all the damage was superficial.

LOTS of work and LOTS of degreaser and LOTS of wire wheeling, but its worth it I think! I like the results.

Lights came from Genos, I didnt want the one piece ones like ebay has...

Red_Rattler 05-10-2010 09:04 PM

Nice truck, engine bay came out very well....too lazy to do mine, maybe one of these days :c:. How many miles on her?

1slow24 05-11-2010 01:17 PM

Ithink it looks like a very fun project..and I think a black bumper would look really good too..if you dont mind me asking how much did you give for her?

DieselCrawler 05-11-2010 02:58 PM

spay wd40 over engine bay. will look like that for a day also! knew a guy that did that at car shows.

Red_Rattler 05-11-2010 03:47 PM

It has 251K on her and I paid 4500 and yup wd45 is an old trick dad used as well! We've restored and had many old Mopar show cars

Some more parts!

Went to the local salvage yard and picked up the hood and fender for 150 bucks! Fender was perfect and white :D and the hood was from the same truck but I da'd it down and primed it for now since it had 2 little dents. Which is WAY better than the 40ish hail dents in the other hood I would had to fix!

Keep it up man looks awesome!:tu:

94 12valve 05-21-2010 11:32 AM

looks like a good project you have there :tu:

While the bed is off you should replace the rusty brake lines, Mine rusted through two weeks ago much easyer with the bed off

Dr. Evil 05-21-2010 12:49 PM

I would drop the tank and see whats inside. Also it would be way easy to put on a 5" exhaust.

Judging by the pics I would almost think you know what your doing...:w2: :w2:

94 12valve 05-21-2010 12:54 PM

what are your plans for the hitch?

Red_Rattler 05-23-2010 06:33 PM

Red_Rattler 05-23-2010 06:57 PM

94 12valve 05-23-2010 08:44 PM

looking good so far :c:

GetBlown5.9 05-26-2010 07:48 AM

Nice work! I cant wait to start on mine this winter...i plan to fix my rusted doors, clean up my frame and axles, fix my bed, and repaint some stuff that needs fixed.

Not to mention that I will be building a motor and cleaning my engine bay to be spot less as well.

94 12valve 05-26-2010 09:17 AM

all that grinding and scaraping is also known as weight saveings lol

Red_Rattler 05-26-2010 09:50 AM

Ha yea, thats true! I took abt 10lbs of mud rust and unneeded brackets, but I made the hitch abt 10lbs heavier :D More to come today.... Then PAINT :yeah:

biged681985 05-26-2010 09:56 AM

have fun jake. u gonna paint the frame black? or a silver/white color?

Red_Rattler 05-26-2010 02:41 PM

Just plain ol black! Easier to keep "clean" since it will be driven every now and then. It'd be cool to do a color but I wouldn't try it unless I had everything off of the frame. Maybe in another 10 years :D

All went well today put some rust eater on the frame for the areas I couldn't wire wheel as good and should be painted tomorrow. Then back to my buds shop for the AirDog, valve springs, gsk, hitch back on. Then to the other buds body shop for the box back on and hood and fender and new front end pieces... Then paint the cab. :loco:

94 12valve 05-26-2010 10:02 PM

man you work fast
