Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
Thanks guys! I ordered all the sound components tonight, and have my eye on a set of seats too!
I wish people would recognize the amount of sacrifice I have put into this truck, rather than just the amount of money I have spent. Its really irritating (no one on this site, just people I know in real life). I have built this truck through being unemployed, and it is turning out exactly how I had dreamed it being, and exactly how I want it, despite being a financial burden. I have no social life, I have found odd jobs when I can, and honestly, its my only pride and joy through all of the **** that has been going on with my back injury and subsequent termination from my job during the last year.
Anywho... enough venting... looking back, I wouldn't change a damn thing, except I would wish my motivation had been stronger sometimes,
.

It's funny how people that lack the skill set to do a project like this, get all hung up on the dollar amount. Ignore the comments by those fools and stick to your set of goals.
I've been watching this thread since the beginning and have used it motivate myself from time to time on my own project. It's not always easy to muster enough motivation to continue on a project that takes a long time to complete. (I know, my project truck will hit the 2 year mark next month)
In the long run you will end up with a truck that you will genuinely take great pride in and be able to enjoy for many years.
Now back to the truck build.

I wish I could say something exciting, or post some pics of the progress, but its really just sitting at the body shop... they did say that they get alot of comments on how its a badass truck and how mean it looks (even in primer!). Looks like the end of the month deadline is going out the window, and I can probably expect it to be more like mid July if not later July. Really kinda throws all of my plans for a loop since I am supposed to be moving away for school in July...
Progress from here on out is going to be painfully slow. I start nursing school on Aug 10th, and there is no way I will even have the truck back by then, so I will basically have 1 day a week to work on it... my dad has offered to help some more, which is great but I almost feel as if its not MY project anymore haha.
In the meantime I have moved, and have been working on my drag bike alot...
How do you think i feel?! Lol. I checked on it today, and its coming along. Its sitting in the paint shop ready to be primed and jammed... I am growing impatient, but I have to give the body shop props for going the extra mile. They really did alot of things that I didn't deem necessary, and they're going the extra mile. I think my paint guy is as anxious as me to see it done, so I know they're not forgetting about it. I understand they need to work their bread and butter jobs too, and those take priority.

Well, stopped in to the body shop again the other day and needless to say... I am giving up hope of having it on the road before Christmas. The body shop is busy with some ambulance jobs, and unfortunately, a $20k job beats out my $2k job... fkn business economics. They're also doing a bit more work to straighten all the panels out... nothing that would have bothered me, but its nice that they are checking it all out for me.
Gotta save up so I can have all the parts waiting when I get the truck back. Stil debating between leather and cloth seats, and exactly what wood I would like to use in the bed, and what color to stain it, and what pattern to make it... decisions decisions!
