Default When a 16 year old runs a red light.....

Just driving down the road, minding my own business, and BOOM. T-boned a buick. Kid was busy playing with his girlfriend in the passenger seat and not watching the road. Ran right through a red light, never even slowed down. I had just replaced the vacuum pump and but one a new set of 265/75/16 E range tires. Less than 100 miles on em, and now the truck sits. Could've driven it except hitting the kid popped the oil cooler, but I did shut it down right away. If you are in MI and need parts, or better yet the whole truck, let me know. I can't post in classifieds yet, but I will post it there when I can. 1994 chevy 3/4 ton with 6.5 turbo diesel and silverado package.

Wish I had been driving a Kenworth, or at least been going a little faster. Michigan is a no fault state, which means his insurance doesn't matter. Mine has to pay for my damage, and the government in their infinite wisdom will only let you sue for $500 to cover deductibles. So, if you are thinking what I did when I first heard that crap, Yes, you can be drunk off your butt, stoned, high on scripts, and driving a stolen car after just winning a 300 million dollar lottery, run through a playground and kill a bunch of kids, and the most you would ever have to pay out is $500. Glad I don't live there anymore.

Man that really sucks. Gives me a reason NOT to go to Michigan for anything. Take those receipts in for the new parts you just put on the truck. When my truck was totaled the insurance paid for the new parts, tires plus the value of the vehicle. Hope you can recoup those part costs.
