did some 4 wheeling with my grandson and pick up a bunch of light scatchs from branchs in the woods. what is the best way to get rid of them. eveyone says they will rub out. what should i use and whats the best way to do it. by hand or ? ? ?

 

So are these marks or actual scratches? Hard to say if it will work without actually seeing it. I would try 3M Rubbing Compound. Its under $8 at Walmart:

If you get it at a professional autobody supplier you can get different cuts that take out deeper scratches.

Yes, you can do this by hand, which may take some persistance. Think I would stay away from the power polisher since you can do some damage with it, if you dont know exactly what youre doing.


Depending how deep the scratches are - you may have to get some 2000 grit and wetsand it - followed by the rubbing compound and then some good wax.

wool buffing pad and some 3m buffing compound should do the trick if they aren't too bad.

 

sand paper could help?......jk mothers works good

 

Worked For me

 

Light scratches..2000 sand paper (wet)..3M or P&S compound..if u have a buffer and know how to use it, great..if not u can rub 2000 scratches out by hand..but follow with some sort of polish to remove compound scratches..again 3M or P&S. You can usually get the compound and polish from a local auto paint store. Also for deeper scratches..you will be able to get away with 1000 grit on factory paint..just be very careful..kinda have to know what you are doing..then follow with 2000 grit (all wet of course) then compound and polish..and a good coat of wax..hope this helps..
