Ok we need some definitive answers here. I don't doubt anybody but we have guys sayin to go both ways, wax and no wax. So which way should I go. I've had a set of rims sittin in the middle of livin room for 2 months now while I sand on em here and there as I feel like it. I'm down to the fine sandin now and hope to finish them up in the next few days. I got the tires and jeep sittin here layin in waiting.
In my old days when I was workin in metal refinishing I would have shot a coat of Emeron clear coat aircraft paint on them but I don't have the equipment or the desire to go through all that work now days so what's the next best thing.

i got sick of polishing my aluminum head ache rack so i spent 4 days polishing it then took it down and had it powder coated clear and its as shiny as it was when it was new and all i have too do when it gets dirty to bring the shine back is spray it with a hose. i plow in the winter and still looks as good as new.

An old street rodders trick is polishing with a little cornstarch.
