big rig wheels on all trucks
I was looking into converting my 2500 to a 3500 dually with the rear Megacab flares and 10 lug wheels, but those SOB's are too @#$%ing expensive. That's a lotta diesel I could burn. Gotta admit that all the above trucks look sharp.
There is a drawback to adapters though. They move your wheels out away from the hubs more just like the wheel spacers and create a new weak spot if you loaded heavy. Puts a lot of extra torque on those hubs.
Love those big rig wheels! I have had a long history with dually conversions & been doin' 10 lug conversions for a while, converting to the 10 lug wheels will place very little extra strain on the axles (atleast with regard to the adaptors) due to the offset of the wheels, however if you go for the ultra wide base rears for the Phantom Dually look... The one thing you will want to make sure of is that the adaptors are made from Billet STEEL not aluminum or even cast steel, aluminum & cast steel can break where as billet steel will bend at the yield point.
