Think the whole idea is that they dont want you to be able to flash drivers behind you...

And for people like me, who still has a stock non-smoking truck, I just slow down. I was drivin down our bypass the other day, 55mph speedlimit, I'm doing 60-65ish, and I realize I can't see the guy behind me's headlights over my tailgate! Hmm, let's see, 6th gear, 5TH GEAR, 4TH GEAR, oh look byebye now you finally went around me.

I have it both ways. All 4 lamps come on the back when I put it in reverse and all 4 can come on when I flip the toggle on the console.

You may find this is still not enough light and add another switch to power lamps on the headache rack (if applicable) and / or lamps under the truck near the front doors facing back to allow for light down the side of the truck - very nice when using your mirrors to back a trailer up!

Oh and accidentially flipping the switch when someone is tailgating you is LOTS of fun.

 

They do have license plate frames that have digital letters or words of your choice, JCW.com (jcwhitney). Red letters scroll across. Not sure on the price. If you want to get into the law around here, you are even supposed to have your fog lights wired so that they only come on when your headlights are on low. No problems with my yota with em in five years so....whats that tell ya? Another goofy frickin law. Its like the one VA had up untill this past summer about stickers or banners on windshields. I got a ticket for mine in the spring and in the fall they made em legal!!! WTF?
