well, yesterday I went to my first drag event in 10 years, and the first time in my truck.. I had an absolute blast.. it was a small town thing, but about 600 people showed up which was really good.. I only got about 5 runs in, but that was fine by me.. truck ran good, there'll be a few tweaks for next year of course.. best time was 10.055.. I was SOOO close to breaking into the 9's, MPH was at 75mph for pretty much each pass except the last one where I smoked the clutch through the last 2 gears.. Guys at the water box were asleep and didn't water nearly enough, so I wanted to roast the tires off for the last pass but got traction instead.. First 2 passes I launched in 2wd, but roasted the tires in 2nd and turned them in 3rd, so after that I did 4x4 launches and it helped a lot. I should have had the smoke screw turned in a little more, it bogged a little at the 10' mark until the turbo lit up, but through the gears it stayed on.

And I was so close to getting this old muscle car.. I ran a 10.24, he ran a 10.12.. I had a 2wd launch which would have made that difference (see attached pic)

 

Those are impressive times for your truck, nice!

 

I really have a hard time believing it.. but apparently a girl took a picture at just the perfect time during the launch and at least one of the front tires came off the ground.. I know my physics, and I gotta think it's an optical illusion.. I'll get the picture tomorrow supposedly.. time will tell

Now if I can get it to do a 1/4 mile in that time I'll be stylin'... Somehow I doubt a 10 second truck is going to be a very good work truck though
