Nice Truck!
I have a a similar truck. 94 GMC K2500, 6.5 diesel with the 6.5 Optimizer engine. Bought mine with a blown 6.5. Make sure that you check those oil cooler lines. Replace them with threaded lines. At the very least, pull those oil cooler lines and replace the o-rings that are up inside the fittings, next to the blocks. Those oil cooler lines are known to pop off, when the get the miles on them (Which is what killed the engine on my 94, from previous owner.)

Its an easy fix. pop the clips off, pick the o-ring off from inside, replace the o-rings.. at the very least.
If one of those lines pop off while the engine is going, all of the oil is dumped before you have a chance to turn off the engine and its all over for the motor at that point.

Just passing along an ounce of prevention.

Congrats!

Thanks Carl! I'm definitely gonna check that out. Been driving "the tater", as we call it, for about 2 months now with no issues. But I know they will come so if I can prevent a catastrophe I'm all for it. It's my daily driver right now until I get my Z71 back (tranny went at 190xxx), so I really don't need it having any problems right now. Appreciate the info!
