Default My friend just bought a BRAND NEW F550 Tow Rig !!!!

So my friend treated himself good and bought a BRAND NEW 2013 F550 Tow Truck last Friday...

Biggest PLUS is that it has a ISB6.7 CUMMINS engine in it

Truck is scheduled to be here in February... i will be sure to post up pictures...

He got a METALLIC FIRE ENGINE RED and checked almost all extra features...

I think this will be interesting as i did not really know that the Cummins was available as a dealer option in any Ford ?

Is it possible to get a new F250 with a 6.7 aswell ?

Definately the best engines.... since Ford are dumping their Navistar POS !

Truck is EURO5 ( Selective Catalytic Reduction & Diesel Particulate Filter ) and uses AdBlue additive in an extra tank... and he doesn't have to pay road taxes as an effect of that...

That's about 5000$ saved every year... so i think the truck will pay for itself pretty quick... then i suppose he will strip it of all that emmision control crap !

550 or 650? I had thought only the 650s and 750s were available with the Cummins. Are you sure he didn't get the 6.7 Scorpion?

No he stated it was a 6.7 Cummins, and i'm almost certain he said it was a F550 as from the pictures it doesn't look anything like the F650s i see by google-ing Ford F650..

It just looks like a F350 with 19,5 Semi wheels :P

That should be a 6.7 Powerstroke, not a 6.7 Cummins if we're talking about an F550

Umh, the F650 comes with the cat motor. My girlfriend's dad's old boss has a blue one, it has the cat in it.

@Angelic, yes they do.

Guess it's a F650 then... and it definately has a Cummins in it, because he was bragging about that... telling me that with his 380hp he is going to be "whooping my ***"

edit: It looks like some of the older Ford medium duties were available with Caterpillar motors. Do you know what year his truck is?
