Default oxygen, accetelyn and blended gas

been renting bottles for years and tired of getting ripped off, paid for many of bottles so far

looking to purchase my own .........anybody with pros and cons of this????????

our local welding store gives guys a hard time over owning your own. like you i always rented. when its time to get the bottles tested the welding store went crazy. also they charged a different price for gas and air if you owned your own. ask your store if the price is the same. i worked as a welder for over 25 years and seen a lot of shady things with the welding store and my company

I have never rented, I bought a setup on CL the tank was fairly empty. I also bought one at a pawn shop, I had one tank that I had to have re-certified so it cost a bit more. I have never had a problem with my local place for gas. I buy Oxy, Acetelyne and gas for my mig, just go there give them the old one they give me a new one filled. Make sure the tank is still under certification and save yourself the cost, otherwise owning is simple and seems cheap.
