I havn't fabbed anything cool for my truck yet, but I do have several one off pieces I've machined that are floating around on various bikes around here in cluding a couple of my own bikes.
The truck is going to get some custom work soon though I promise :) George |

are those just 2 exhaust 90 degree bends welded together?
I couldnt wait for my "swanker" so I had my fabricator make a few for the local guys and myself. yep stainless exhaust tubing 2 90* and a center section to make it longer, Flange to bolt it up and the end welded to keep the boot on BUT Darryl Poole has a flang maker so my latest intake horn will be flaired out on the end. Ill post a pic when it comes back Ian |

I cant forget about my "SPECAIL" FATHER/SON project, the POWER WHEELS PLUS!!!!LOL

I have 4 1/2" suspension lift on the front of my truck.
I made pretty much everything there. Only bought item was the Cepek Long Arm kit. It was about the same cost to build as buy, so took the easy way there. Made and welded a drop bracket for a 3rd gen track bar. Also changed the location on the axle to keep in line with the drag link. Cut, bent, and threaded the tubing for crossover steering with heim joints. Enough to clear a Mag-Hytec Dana 70 cover. Welded new coil buckets to axle and raised them 2". Also welded 1/4" thick plate to all axle mount points. Made a bushing for the steering gear box. It's made from brass, has an o-ring, and a grease fitting. Holds the sector shaft nice and tight. Just visible in the top of the picture. The track bar and drag link are the same length and have the same drop. No bumpsteer, and no steering stablizer needed with 37" tires. Just went to 38.5" tires, and may need one with those. I made, back in 94, a 2" body lift out of 2" x 4" x 1/4" thick steel tubing. Made a 2" spacer then also for the coils. At that time, 94, not a lift kit made. I ran 37" H1 Hummer tires, Goodyear GS-A. Lots more, but enough for now. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-...pdate72005.jpg Brad |

Well I got tired of my redneck gauge mount in the truck that I had to do something about it. Nobody makes a gauge pod that hold 2 5/8" gauges so it would have to be a homemade custom remedy.
Before- 3 gauges bolts to the dash with a piece of "custom" cut angle  http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/908/8650/157780.jpg So i did some highly skilled and technical planning/drawings to layout what i wanted. :c: http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/908/8650/155312.jpg |
And here is what I have so far. It needs another very light skim coat of body filler to take care of some of the real small holes, a little more sanding that I couldn't see it needed until the primer was on there.

I couldnt wait or afford a "Swanker" so i built my own.
Coolest thing: its actually made out of a intercooler tube out of a blown 6.0.:se: Cut out the bends and welded em back together. oh, its yellow cuz my batteries were also yellow, matched pretty good. |
You guys have some pretty good ideas. The best I've done is build a few sets of twins. I'll try and get some pics up, but not sure where they're at. The hard drive went out on my lap top again and I dont know if I've got pics anywhere.

Here is my finished truck with home made bed, did have to buy 2 floorplates, rest i found in shop and in scrap yard. Made bed heavy for better ride.
On the top of bed in back, made a storage bin for chains and binders. Painted the bed with tractor paint $33 gal, and clearcoated it $80.00 gal. Painted truck with dupont white and clear, that paint is expensive, wanted to make truck original in paint. truck with bed and full tank weight in at 7740 lbs. |

so how are you guys doing this, i should probably buy a different stick so i dont screw mine up, and whit how did you make the switches activate things, arnt they air valves?
|
Mug flaps...does that count?:sen:
Sub box and amp rack, rear seat mounts most of the stuff I install on my truck I customize in some way or another and a few of the stock part. Its hard to do much when your shop is the street in front of your apartment. |
