Custom Items You've Built For Your Truck
i don't have pictures and im in antarctica untill feb, but over the past few years i swapped a 12v into my 1992 gmc dually. and i made all the mounts and did all the work myself. i rebuilt the motor as bullet proof as i could, and hopped up a little bit
, used a nv5600 and a south bend dd clutch. there are so many custom things that i did i cant even remember them all, but my favorite one was the spedometer. because the stock chevy tranny had the speedo sensor on the tail shaft and the 05 dodges have it in the axle i had no where to to get a reading. so i water jet a 40 spline collar and set screwed it onto the slipyoke and then waterjet out a bracket and bent it all sorts of ways in the brake to bolt it on one of the tranny case bolts and have it hold my sensor at the splined collar. i know i owe the water jet all the credit but after a long time of wondering how i was going to make my speedo work, i was, and still am, excited to have it work. oh yeah and the speedo was off a little because i just guesed at the dia and number of teeth so then i bought 3.42 gears and a spool and now its spot on....
except my tires wore out in record time this summer
but i blame all the marks in town on some other dually

Just because we can, or what? I know of a guy that installed one in a Monte Carlo, and apparently it was driveable. I saw your vid and other posts. Have you started a build thread? Not sure what the purpose of this type vehicle might be...
Interesting.
Interesting.
No build thread. I really didnt take the time to take that many pictures.
The purpose? To be awesome. Why else? I was getting 10 mpg, pulling a motorcycle and a stand up jetski in the bed. Since I race up and down the east coast, getting to the stops and being able to afford things after paying for gas is kinda a big thing. LoL.
Now I'll have tons of power and get 30mpg.
And its cool as **** either way.
Also, once I add airbags in the rear I have no doubt that this is a stronger platform than many 3/4 ton trucks out there. Rides like a cadillac and has a 7 foot bed in the back. Whats the purpose of your vehicle?
