they are made in Colorado, my craftsman have been around for atleast 40 years and have only broken 2 or 3 things wich were replaced on the spot

Well thats nice to know. even if the quality was down, i'd still support em if they are made in the good ol USA.

 

I love my craftsman, if it needs to be super awesome get a snap-on but i havent had any problem with my craftsman on replacement as long as they are hand tools

i go threw tools more than anything and i use them everyday.craftsman used to be really good if you can get your hands on pre 1980ish craftsmans you better jump on em.my old 1970s craftsman ratchets are really just as good as my matcos and they even feel tighter to me.but go to garage sales and buy the older stuff its 10x better.and sk makes pretty good stuff,its a little more than sears but way less than snap on ditto with proto

 

Yea I have a SK Torque Wrench works good and way cheaper than a Mac or Snap On. For somthing I use all the time like a ratchet I prefer Mac, but for as often as I use a torque wrench I can't justify spending too much.

 

I have a snap on torque wrench, a few SK tools through napa, and the rest craftsmen. All of them treat me well, I break the **** outta sockets all the time, get them replaced through sears or napa.
I started buying the napa tools (besides the huge discount i get working there) because napa is always down the street to get it replaced, sears can be a drive.

 

My personal favorites are S&K, Gearwrench, and Snap on. Mostly because I can get them easily replaced.

The closest Sears is about 2 hours away. I hate Craftsman rachets and wrenches anyways. Their sockets are decent. Torque wrenches are crap. Might as well buy the generic $20 dollar ones at the local store. If your going to buy craftsman spend the extra money and buy the professionals. They are a lot better than the standard craftsman. Still wouldn't buy a torque wrench from them.

There is supposedly a MAC truck that runs through here but I have never seen him. I have a 1/2" MAC torque wrench I bought used off the Snap-On truck. It's been pretty good to me.

I like S&Ks because they are relatively inexpensive and are still pretty good tools. and there is a dealer fairly close. they make a 1/4" ratchet set that is 3/16(i think) to 9/16 and 4mm to 15mm in a green case that is really handy to carry around.

The Snap on guy drives by every day so if I need something I can flag him down. Otherwise he stops by the plant once a month and takes care of me pretty good. I love Snap-On's rachets. 1/4" stuff I don't get too concerned about but I buy mostly Snap On ratchets.

Gear wrenches are another nice set of tools. Their sockets are nice and the ratchets (at least the 3/8) are pretty good. The best money I ever spent was on my set of ratcheting wrenches. I like them a lot better than the Blue-points that I've used. That and the local Napa has them and warranty is pretty easy.


I also have a bench of generic brand stuff for things I don't use frequently.
