It definitely made my truck run better, got almost 100 more miles per tank as well. I didnt think I would ever burn up all the dyed I used

no. The fuel is the same. Comes from the same plant in fact comes from the same tank. They add the dye as they are filling the trucks. Had one of those pumps malfunction one time. Talk about a big fat mess.

Its regular diesel but a Red dye is added for off road use. You dont pay taxes on it. This is why its illegal to run on the road. Some places its hard to find but around here several of the service stations carry it.

I got a question about the red as well. Seeing as i am not exactley a person with the age to remember or was i around diesel engines as kid, did off-road diesel used to have a higher amount of sulfur compared to the norma on road diesel?? Or was this a common misconception back in the day?

Off Road diesel or Red diesel is normally used on or aroung the farm for tractors or diesel powered generators... and other epuipment such as cat's track hoes forklifts things of this matter you do not want to run them in the newer vehicles due to all the restrictions it will clog the dpf up and will void your warrenty. as far as good to bad its considered bad because it has more sulfer in it than the regular green diesel and they add the red dye at the processing plants to make heads and tails between the two. though it may not burn as clean as low sulfer (more smoke) it contains more oil in it and will lube the engine up.. everytime we would get a new or slightly used diesel we (us and ppl we know) would run 2 tanks or so off the red and then green unless in a bind like being on E hopes this helps kingcopa and smokeeaterlb7

I am not asking currently, i think the guys have explained that one well enough, but is there any truth to the exact thing your saying, that off highway diesel is truly a higher sulfur than the typical ULSD that you get from the pump?
