Default Air Compressor Tank

I've got an old medical oxygen cylinder that I'd like to build an air compressor tank out of for the truck. Its not real big but I think it would be perfect for air horns. Its made out of aluminum(or some other non ferrous metal but pretty sure its aluminum) but I was just wondering what all i would need for fittings and such to build a tank. I've never built one before but since I love building/making things I figure I might as well get some use out of this tank. I'm sure that there's someone out there that's bult one. Thanks guys.

What is the thread on it?

1/2" NPT Im thinking it should be. If so, you can get one of those deals from a hardware store that has the safety relief valve/fill valve/guage built in. That should be all you need.

Will try to find a pic for ya.

You could maybe go with something like this:

Here's what the tank looks like. Looks like I could just unscrew the valve off the top and put in my own of some sort. Like I said, its not real big. Not sure how much it holds either.

I think thats more than big enough for airhorns. I have a conversion deal that I picked up from Harbour Freight. I will post up a pic when i can find it - my garage is chaos right now.

Ok. Found a sticker on it that said 680 liters or about 24 cubic feet. I was thinking about getting a small compressor to fill it with. Just not sure what all i need to plumb everything in. I'll have to take that valve off and see what size it is and all and let ya know so I can find out what I need to get for pipe/valves and such. Thanks Dr. Evil for your help.
