Might sound stupid but you may be surprised what you can do with parrot jaw pliers vs crescent wrench. Might do a little more damage but grips and really doesn't slip.

This comment scares me but I have to agree with Begle1 about Snap-On pliers.

Snap-On slip joint pliers, diagonal cutters and wire strippers are some of the worst tools that I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing.

I like the Knipex and Klein brand wire stripper and cutters.

I have been buying and using Snap-On hand tools for the last 25+ years.
