Default Need help, place and knowledge for front left axle seal R&R

Hey all,

I am in Calgary AB right now until Feb 5th or so and would like a place/help with replacing my front left axle seal. I have new hubs, so it won't be a knuckle buster. I also have the seal.

Please let me know if you can help. I've never done one before, so I would pretty much be relying on your knowledge and tools.

I can buy the beer and pizza, or just let me know what you would like for the trade. If you need help working on your truck, I would be more than willing to do that too.

Thanks!

Not sure if yours is the same or not(dont really look into the newer trucks much!), but this was the writeup i followed when rebuilding my D60 front end.

Front Axle Tech

Once the carrier is out you can drive the seal in with a hammer and socket (its a very tight fit)

I wasn't able to get this done on my own so I had the shop do it. It failed shortly after warranty, but they covered 1/2 the cost of doing it.
Thanks all!

What did they charge to do the seal? I just did my ball joints and I think I may have damaged the seal. I don't think I have the patients to take this apart again.

Sit tight - even if you knicked the seal it will more than likely heal itself in a few thousand miles. At least mind did and I knicked it pretty bad.

They charged me 210.00 but credited me 105.00 plus the seal.
