U can't use it on Verizon. ATT uses GSM.

Yeah, what Luke said. Being "jailbroken" lets you put third party software on it as well as changing the "settings" that Apple doesn't want you to change. You can "unlock" the phone, and that will let you use it on any network that uses a SIM card.
