Engine is out of the Machine Shop
Okay here’s some new information about the Dodge 6.7 diesel engine. The head the block and the crank are all back from the machine shop and everything turned out to be standard so I placed my order with Cummins and got Pistons rods rings complete engine gasket set rod bearings main bearings and all new seals and oil pump. The head on the 6.7 had a valve job and the head shaved the block had the original hash marks from the factory hone and the machine shop took a one quarter of a thousandth out of five cylinders the number six cylinder had 1000th taken out of it the crankshaft was polished and is standard so this whole engine is going back standard rods standard mains standard pistons standard rings it should be in the truck running by next weekend I bought this truck to resell it was a repossession that a bank owned it is a one owner vehicle it was put into service September of 2008 and was repossessed around September of 2010 I bought this at an auction knowing the engine was bad so if you buy this truck will have a fresh engine in it plenty of power and as long as you take care of it by changing the oil changing the fuel filter changing the air filter and the transmission fluid and filter and the rear end fluid this truck should last you for a long time this is my seventh Dodge Cummins Turbo diesel Quad cab dually my first truck’s were 2005 models the next trucks for 2006 models then I bought a 2004 model off of eBay and then I bought this truck 2008 model I have included the vin check auto check so you will have the vin and be able to check the truck out I am taking pictures through each part of disassembly and assembly and the engine reinstallation to show all of you how it’s done and if anyone has any sugestions please fill free to let me know I am not perfect and I learn everyday so if you see anything I am doing the hard Way let me know the easy way and any input from anybody would be greatly appreciated I hope these pictures help you guys to see what parts to get and how the fix things on your truck and if you want to p.m. me about anything it’s okay thanks for reading y’all have a good day. did you ever figure out what caused the problem in the first place

 

Looks like the EGR Clogged the grid heater and heated the engine gualded the piston and caused the rod to heat and spin the bearing
