This is a Haisley built input shaft. I bought it used and it has what looks to be grinder marks on the retainer. I asked the guy about it and he said it wouldn't cause any problems, but didn't say why it was there. I ran it with my SBC DD clutch and didn't have any problems with it. There wasn't any odd wear on the throw out bearing or the retainer when I removed it, so I would assume it will be ok.
