I have a 1999 RV with a 5.9L 24v Cummins ISB and an Allison MT643. I'd like to boost the HP and Torque but have been told that the Allison torque converter won't handle more than 600 ftlb. Is there a torque converter out there that will couple to the cummins and Allison and that will handle engine upgrades?

Default Upgrade 5.9L 24V ISB with Allison MT643

I am looking for advice on upgrading my 275hp Cummins ISB which is hooked to an Allison MT643. I understand that the transmission is limited to 600 ft lbs of torque which is what the Cummins puts out now. The limit is the torque converter. Question, are there aftermarket heavy duty torque converters (such as the Banks billet) that I can put in to overcome this limit??

the torque rating of the allison mt643 is 640 ft/lbs. i'm not aware of any aftermarket parts available for this tranny, but maybe you could try to contact a site sponsor that handles the allison trannies. good luck
