Im looking to get a superchips vivid for my truck. I already have a max,micro tuner but it needs an update for $175 so I figured I would just get a better one and am looking for a good price.

Yes, definitely go SCT. Sell you programmer on ebay or craigslist. It will most likely never sell on the forums.

X-cal3, SF3, or livewire. The xcal and sf3 will basically do the same things (SF3 holds 3 canned tunes on top of the 3 customs you'll want, the x-cal only holds custom, which is fine since that's what you should be using), the livewire is a pod unit so it has built in gauges.

All hold the same tunes, so as far as performance/reliability, they're all the same. Just what features you want.
