Exhaust Brake or Tow/Haul? MPG?
[QUOTE=Mdub707;876356] Allison is great on a bone stock truck, add a little bit of power and watch it grenade.
My neighbor has a d-max and it's got an allison and he has a edge on it in the highest setting it would slip in 5th gear just got it back from rebuild
Strokin' Away

I don't doubt that at all, you have to keep the tunes under 80-90hp. They'll last forever at stock power levels, and are great at towing, but they just aren't that great in the performance world. Even the fully built Allison's have a problem with slow shifts.
But for you Joel, it'll work great

allison was built to work, not to race.
they can last forever if run within design specs, but it's a completely different animal operation wise compared to any transmission you might be used to.
