Default Where to draw the line when talking about price

I've been on the hunt for the impossible to find 2nd gen manual! Im looking at 98.5 -02 2500's. I want to know what to pay for the average diesel(just like exhaust, intake and tuner) around 150k 4x4 little to no rust at all. I've found nydiesels site and they are way to over priced!!!! asking 20k for a 02 5 speed with 155k and pretty much all stock where online I found a slightly modded 01 5 speed loaded with 56k for 19k. Most sell for what I see like 3k above book. Nydiesel is asking 8k over book on theirs and i even told them i have cash in hand today,no go so i gave up on them. Im new into this whole diesel world but ive been in love with them since i was a little kid. Im 20 and i know what to look for when buying a used truck but its hard to tell what to pay with these things. Any help is appreciated I know to look out for the 53 block but thats really about it

^^^ .nice truck man.to the op ice been looking for a cummins to, and I just think some of these cummins owners are high as a kite. They think having row mirrors and gauges and a chip increases the value 3 grand, most are over priced in Ohio, with some rust and high miles

Sweet! Ive been kinda picky with it but I figure that if im gonna pay this much for a truck might as well be exactly what i wanted

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Oh and I found this

It's has a super b special turbo, quadzilla chip, 150hp injectors, .125 fuel connecter tubes, 6 speed south bend dual disc 3 k on it I had a bigger drive shaft built for the front 1410 u-joints. It's has a 150 air dog
It's an 02 It has disk brakes all around. 180,000
There's not a spot of rust on the truck the frame perfect no rust it has all the paint on it. The trucks from Texas

He wont take less than 15.5 I was thinking like 14. Good deal?

That's exactly what I'm talking about, people think because cummins name is on it its the freaking holy Grail of diesels. I'm picky to if it has rust on doors I won't loo at it anymore, it seems all the decent ones around me have high miles and high prices. But u refuse to pay over 12,500 for a truck with 170000 miles, because resale value. I couldn't even give a way my powerstroke, had 175000 and needed front end work, booked for almost 11 and had it at 9 to buy another truck and guys were still low ballon me.

There's two sides of the coin to buying an already modded truck. Its nice that you dont have to spend the time and money to install those mods on the truck, but you don't know how hard its been run or what kind of stuff its been through.
