not sure on what transmission to go with for my 5.9 any suggestions

5 speed or 6 speed are the toughest...
5 speed the 5th gear nut back out so you can lose 5th gear but nothing a lil welding cant fix..

i have a four speed auto right now looking into a 5 speed auto is there a model that is better?

Thats requires some fabriacation and a computer. Dodge auto are not known to be tough. So are you puttin in a dodge auto?

A full billet Dodge auto is as tough (or tougher) than most other auto trannys out there. They're just not good in stock form. But really the only candidates there are four speeds.

To the OP, why do you want a 5 speed auto?

well an auto would be nice because then i dont have to teach my girlfriend to drive a stick we both have horses and that way she can pull them on her own so the nv4500 would be the better pulling option

i have an auto for it ill have to go through it hough if i choose to put it in

OK Im slightly confused from a lack of information...
Does you truck already have auto in it?
Or does it have the NV4500? Because if you have that I would think it be much easier, cheaper and overall better to teach your gal how to drive a stick, if plus its something every driver should know how to do... i SPENT 6 months trying to teach my sis how to drive a stick and finally gave up she learned more on trial and error... and embarrising her self than I could.

it has the auto in it the engine and transmission are completely out of it right now maybe its time she learned to drive stick
