12 valve = practical?
hey bombers,
ive been on FTE forums a while and am cosidering getting a cummins. Now id like to see if you guys think a 12 valve is practical for me.
i tow maybe twice a month, anywhere from a 5x10 bumper pull, to a 30ft livestock gooseneck
i drive ALOT on the weekends. i average 500 miles weekends and about 150 a week to work.
i have NO problem driving slow to acheive the best possible MPG.
i live in a small town (800 pop) and drive alot of dirt roads.
now ive found a 98 2500 12 valve, reg cab, NV4500, 130k miles, with FACTORY dana 80 rear end, front end and transmission recently rebuilt, needs paint.one owner. for $6500
when i saw this i thought it was a steal! because im my small town 12 valves have been going for alot higher with tons of miles on them. i really love having the extra power when needed, but im concerned about the cost of maintenance, fuel, repairs, consumables, etc.
