Default Duramax LMM or PSD 6.4l

Hey everybody...

I need to buy a diesel to haul a 6ton cargo trailer through mountains. I have found two I like.

2. 2008 F250 regular cab with 44K miles. Nothing on the OASIS report.

3. 2008 2500HD with a LMM and 33k miles. Know no repair history.

Both are from dealers and all have been registered as commerical use so I do not think any tuners have been used.

This will be a truck for my business so when it goes down I will not be making any money. I plan on keeping everything stock and driving about 50k a year -all with the trailer. The Ford is in by budget and the Chevy is about 5k more. Things I need to think about are regular maintenance and mpg.

Which would you recomend and why?

Thanks for your time,
El Padrino

Both will do exactly what you want, test drive them, and see which you like the most, they both have lots of power and ride well, a DPF delete will do wonders for both trucks however

dont buy what you cant afford. and definitely test drive both. both great trucks. i'm a ford guy but i'm not gonna tell you to get the ford. you need to get in it and drive it. feel the truck. how's the steering and suspension. what condition overall is each one in. stuff like that. don't take this as a ford biased thing but is the duramax worth going 5k over your budget for? do you need what makes it that expensive? is it gonna make you any more money?

You may be able to find another truck in your price range if you do like the duramax but dont like the price... there will always be more trucks for sale

and as always RESEARCH!! research each truck thoroughly, read threads, look up the issues that they have had, thats the best way to learn the most about each truck, there is a ton of info here, every question you have had has probably been answered, if not search other forums, there's a lot of info on the internet about them, that way you can make the best educated decision possible, you know what you're getting yourself into rather than blindly buying something then ending up being unhappy when something goes wrong or you just simply dont like how the truck performs etc
