Default Looking at a 1996 Dodge 2500 Cummins--need advice

I am looking at a 1996 Dodge Diesel this evening..and would like thoughts on what to look for and if it is a good deal or not. I will try to put in as much info as I was told.

1996 Dodge Ram 2500 club Cab Long Bed
4x4, Dana 70 front, Dana 80 Rear, 3.73 Ratio
175,000 Miles, KDP taken care of long ago, Rebuilt Tranny 75,000 ago ( RV Bilit Torque Converter and shif kit and hD clutches ), New BD Injection pump 20,000 ago ( said he ran a biodiesel experiment on it for a while and it destroyed his pump..had it replaced with receiptes ), bigger injectors and Springs, Valves adjusted 40,000 ago when new HD springs put on. Rebuilt front end ( new ball joints, pitman, idler, new Reddot steering box and gear, track bar, stabilizer shock, shocks, said he spent almost 3k doing front end with receipts), Wastegate pluged or unpluged..from what he said, body in good shape, White, good tires. New starter and alternator in last 30k.

Whats Wrong: Linkage bent on 4WD Shifter...goes into 4 HI, 2HI, but wont gointo 4 LO by the shifter...works though when you do it manually by hand. ( says bent it when got towed out of muddy ditch at job site) , and inside truck bed dinged up.

I think I can get it for $5k ( I talked him down from 7k...he bought a new 2006 model and needs to sell this. ) want to know if this seems like a good deal. he has owned it for 10 years

Thanks all.

sounds good to me. the gear ratio dont sound right to me but could be right. most of what i have saw is 3.55 gears and 4.10. this sounds like a good truck.

I had a 97 Dodge CTD. stock 215HP, 4500 5-speed, NP-241, Dana 60F, Dana 80 Rear Hybrid --- dana 80 with dana 70 outer. 3.55 gears w/option 4.10

96 Dodge CTD: should be dana 60, dana 70 auto trans., dana 80 hybrid manual trans., gear ratio: 3.55 or 4.10 unless the owner replaced it????? The wastegate can be plug which mine pushing 40psi.
