F250 Potential
I am a complete noob to the diesel area but have been doing my research and would like some advice from some seasoned vets. I have a few options and do not have to pull the trigger right now on a truck but think I might have a fairly good deal. I would like some input on the truck and price. I am looking at an 06 F250 crew larait FX4 with 195000mi on it. The truck appears to be very well maintained and looking through the few service records and carfax it has been on the highway ALOT and was a company vehicle for a good amount of time.
Mods to the truck:
Bully dog rapid flow intake (noticed the filter is broken off but is not dirty in the tube so I am unsure how long it has been that way)
Edge Preformance plugged in on the drivers side under the hood and I can find an "on/off" switch but nothing else?
Looking through the few service records I found where the EGR & Oil cooler had beed replaced and flushed as well as the oil changed, they also found water in the turbo and replaced that, all of this occured June 09 and said TSB 09 8 3
Everything else was pretty standard (oil changes, new shocks, tires, brakes, ect.) altho it did say that the svc dept recommended that they change the ball joints in Dec09.
Just looking for some advice and some help to make a good decision of stay away from aq bad one, oh and most importantly they want $14000 for it. I am planning on giving Ford a call Monday and getting an Oasis report since I am familiar with the HG issues with the 6.0 motors. I would love to find a 7.3 but most people think they have a gold bar sitting there and I just cant seem to find the right one that has been taken care of. Thanks for all the help in advance.
