Default 2004 2500 HO MPG question

I bought an 04 (not the 04.5) Dodge 2500 HO because my buddy gets a constant 23 mpg out of his even around town. My rear is 3.73 and 4 spd auto, just like his. However I am getting an overall average 20.5. He does take his to the dealer for oil change and service. We both have about 120,000 miles. I just bought my mine used at 110,000. I am trying to figure out if I am missing something regarding servicing. Are there any problems that I should be aware of that might be making the difference. Both are stock. Any suggestions?
