The 5.9 will give you more HP, TQ, MPG, & it will be more reliable

Both are good trucks but as said above the 5.9 is tried and true. I have 133,000 on mine, dads got 139,000 and 123000 on his and i have a buddy with the 6.7 and he has 100,000 on it and hasnt had many problems. The down side to the 6.7 is the emissions but they are good trucks just depends on what you can get for a price. I actually here in a couple months might be selling mine to go new pm if you are interested.

I think you will be happy with either. If you're in an area that doesn't require emissions inspections, ditch the emissions equipment on the 6.7 and don't look back. I have almost 30k on my deletes and haven't had any problems whatsoever out of it. Fuel mileage out of a stock 6.7 isn't anything to get excited about, but once you get rid of all the garbage choking them down, they really come alive in both the power and mileage dept.
I say find a good solid truck that you like and that fits your budget and go from there.
