Default whats the best choice??

hello yall
Im looking to buy my first diesel truck . Im going to be using it to tow my RV it weights about 10,000lbs, i want something that can seat four adults comfortabley. due to the fact that i have a tight budget im looking more toward the older powerstroke and cummins. The problems that im facing is that its hard to find older cummins in crew cab. i also want it to be a manual to make the towing better, im just wonder which one would tow better and also which one could get the better fuel mileage?

thanks
Joe

I am a current powerstroke owner 2001 with 70K this truck is junk as far as I'm concerned I would steer you towards a duramax and dodge no offense I just see way to many problems!

in my opinion the best vehicle for you is a 94 to 97 ford 7.3 crew cab.my brother has a 95 , it has always been a loyal truck.good luck,in your search.

Ford 4 door or chevy 4 door or dodge mega cab if you want to comfortably seat 4 adults. My 06 quad cab dodge is not adult friendly in the back unless the front seats move forward a lot.
edit. I didn't read good enough. Older fords are more accessible in my area.
What are you looking to spend?

94- 97 ford crew cab, i think there are a few first gen dodge crew cabs, otherwise an early duramax or older chevy crew cab or cr cummins, there all good and are crew will seat 4 adults

Personally after owning one of each brand and it just comes down to what you like the most go look around sit in ask some people if you could drive or ride in and just see which one fits you the best. ya you may get what everyone else says is a great truck but if isn't what you truly enjoy driving it isn't worth driving.

Here's my experience's 03 chevy dmax= awesome truck nice ride and drive good power towed great.
95 cummins 12v= slightly rougher ride than the chevy but great power easy to work on if you get an auto expect to either keep up maintenance or build one up.
08 ford 6.4PSD= Great ride and drive smoother than the other 2 even being lifted, decent power/great power with dpf delete programmer, Others have had good luck but I got a lemon of them has electrical issues.

(Again those were just my personal experiences with the 3 diesels I have owned Not in any way saying which is best all the brands have ups and downs just falls to which ups and downs work best for you.)

You will have a hard time stuffing 4 adults into an older Dodge Truck. The Cummins is a towing machine and a work machine. All trucks have their issues and problems, and once taken care of, any of the big three should suit you fine.
