Obama is my Homie, we roll hard up in this hood, and I don't think anyone should own guns cause those are bad and they kill people

6.0 is not as good as the 7.3 from a reliability stand point in my opinion, as far as the auto transmission i'd say ford gets the win in that regard, stock anyway, dodge has arguably the best transmission for holding power when it's built, but they have some short comings from the factory, torque converter and valve body and it'll hold up to the power you're wanting to push, ford transmissions on the other hand, I have no idea what's needed to support 400-500hp, someone will probably disagree with what i have said, but it's what i know to be true on the dodge transmissions

still kinda up for question, EGR delete and head studs are going to be necessary for what you're trying to do power wise, the trans will hold up for the most part, maybe a torque converter eventually depending on mileage on the vehicle

from what i have seen the best thing to do to a 6.0 is do an egr delete and head studs then they will hold up better but i dunno if i would trust that. not really sure about the transmissions in the fords but i know in the dodges they were not much to write home about. mine just likes locking and unlocking the torque converter goin down the road. but they are a tough trans. hope that helps ya buddy

So which one would be the better option, ford or dodge? which one has the worst and most expensive known problems? which one is more reliable over all? & what are there best years? ect..
