Few Questions To Know What I'm Getting Into.
OK then, you got any current information to back up your statement? I have a Dodge TSB dated sometime in 1993 about Fram filters. You want me to explain that to you? Maybe better to just let this alone, you know what they say ignorance is bliss...
I'm not even addressing the Pennzoil subject, that's just plain hogwash, not gonna go there.

We're getting pretty far afield of the OP and this post. But, I'll say this much about MY decision concerning Fram and Pennzoil... I've been an ASE master tech for over 30 years. I've managed fleets. I have been in the hydraulics industry at the manufacturing level, where I had access to close to a million dollars worth of oil and filter testing equipment, which I used to test a wide variety of various oils. The worst was Pennzoil. And, I've CUT OPEN countless Fram filters and rebuilt countless engines where the owner was a die-hard Fram/Pennzoil fan. Because of all that PERSONAL EVIDENCE, I choose to not use those products on MY vehicles. Even my machinist can tell me which motor oil and filter the customers used when he sees the wear on the blocks.
I'm thiking that you have never personally cut open a used Fram oil filter...
Most guys that do cut open filters tend to think like I do, Dodge TSB or not. Oh, and did it ever occur to you that the fact that Dodge had to issue a TSB means something? Like perhaps a whole bunch of people were as concerned as I about Fram?
So, yes, I have seen enough evidence, personally, to convince me to use other products.

The writer has some things to say about oil filters... I'll graciously leave it at that.

Good, because I'm here to tell you all your vast "personal experience" don't mean dick when it comes to this subject and your extremely limited perspective. You sound like one of those peole who believes the only existence is that which they are personally aware of and whatever may have just happend to pass under their nose by chance in years of doing the same thing over and over again with what they were told by who they were told.
Like I said, let's see the evidence to support the myths you spread. Otherwise, can it.

a smarty would be the way to go if your looking for more power. the maintence is generally the same as a gas engine only you really dont need to change oil every 3k like gassers do. i change mine at 7500 and the last time i changed it it was closer to 10k and i pulled the plug and the oil still had that tacky feel like new oil. i strictly use rotella oil 15w40 and the mopar filter. if worse comes to worse i will use a fleetguard. the trans i dont change as much. as far as fuel goes i have an air dog 150 and i go from what airdog states to change and drain the filters. basically the maintence is the same as on gassers. just holds a little more of everything. hope this helps and good luck with the search.
Thanks yah that did help some. I expected that for the the oil intervals would be higher. And I was planning on using the Mopar filter as I get dealer discount with Chrysler. Is there any drastic diferences with the fleetguard filter and mopar one?
IMO there isnt but im not sure about that i figure if major trucking companys use fleetguard for stuff that makes them money they should be ok. maybe someone else will chime in with more technical advice. i went by what i witnessed for 2 years in a truck stop garage.
